Hatch Conversion Installation

Prep:
We always recommend positioning the hatch on the car before sanding or doing any work on the hatch. This will enable you to mark where you need to sand a little, so you can perfect the fit for your particular Corvette.

Once this is done, the parts are ready to sand. We recommend block sanding (or dual-action) the parts with 80 to 150 grit sandpaper. A light mist of white spray paint as a guide coat is helpful to show where sanding has been done. Of course, this is optional.

After your preliminary sanding work is done, you will want to re-fit the part on the car to make sure you no longer need to perfect the fit. If ready, spray with primer. We recommend something similar to K-200. You are now ready to wet sand with 400 grit paper. Paint as desired.

Installation:
1. Remove the inner liner from your roll bar.
2. Undo the four (4) nuts holding the rear hatch in place.
3. Make sure you disconnect the rear defrost and the struts.
Note: The struts are not reused, so store them safely.
4. Very carefully lift the rear glass from the car and safely store.
5. Remove the three (3) pieces of plastic surrounding the rear cargo area.
6. Remove the rubber seal from around the cargo area.
7. Place hatch on the cargo area and push down to lock in place.
8. Slip hatch roll bar into place and tighten down with included nuts.
9. Reinstall inner roll bar liner. Window can be slipped in at time of install of hatch roll bar

To remove window, you must remove inner roll bar liner. Use of window is optional.
