    From 1988-96 Chevrolet offered, as an option on standard equipment Corvettes, the J55 front brake upgrade. It was standard equipment on the factory hot rods; Grand Sport and Collector Edition models. Now you can upgrade 1985-96 models with this factory option, but with the benefit of today’s slotted rotor technology. 1985-87 Corvettes were equipped from the factory with single piston calipers and small 12” rotors. By installing the J55 Front Brake Upgrade Kit, you’ll get a 25% increase in stopping power with the conversion to Girling dual piston calipers and properly sized 13” sport slotted rotors. Included with the kit are Hawk HPS brake pads, rubber brake hoses and all necessary mounting brackets.
